Reading

Here are a few of the books I have read that really made an impact on how I feel about myself:

A Little Light on the Spiritual Laws by Diana Cooper
Wow, just when I thought I knew a lot… I am shown yet more that blows my mind. This book goes into subjects like karma, the law of reflection, projection and attraction and many more. I found this book really quite comforting and supportive through a difficult time.

The Art of Happiness by the Dalai Lama and Howard Cutler
This book is like a very long interview with the Dalai Lama where he shares his spiritual wisdom in a way that is easy to transfer into our everyday lives in a practical manner.

The Monk who sold his Ferrari by Robin Sharma
When you are really ready to make a profound change to the quality of your life and find your path, this book will help get you there. With helpful techniques, set out in a personal story-format, its easy to relate to and easy to apply.

Women who Run with Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes
This book is all about reconnecting with the ‘wild woman’ inside you and trusting your feminine instincts and intuition. The book contains various short stories/fairytales and explanations of what they represent and how they can teach us about feminine power.

A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson
The clue is in the title… this book reminds us to infuse our lives with love and that no matter what the challenge, we can use love as a practical application.

The Road Less Travelled by M Scott Peck
This book was published in the year I was born! It helped me to understand my family and myself and realise that no matter what wrong you think someone has done to you, that when you look deeper at why that person acted that way, through understanding, we can find forgiveness.

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
This is one of the most powerful books I have ever read. Its all about surrendering to the present moment, and not living in the mind-created past or future.

You Can Heal your Life by Louise Hay
Yes, you really can! You can take responsibility for your thoughts, your body and therefore any illnesses that arise. I must confess, I havent read the whole of this book yet because I ended up giving it to someone who needed it more, but the bit that I did read was enough for me to take away its powerful message.

Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers
Everyday we avoid situations, people and activities because of the fear of a negative outcome. This puts barriers up all around us, stopping us experiencing things which could have a positive outcome! This book helps you to stop being paralyzed by fear and start moving with energy and enthusiasm.

Anything by OSHOhttp://www.osho.com/
Osho has such a wide range of books on so many topics and I have read about 5 of them. I just love the unique way he expresses ideas and reading his books always makes me feel comforted and peaceful.

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
For some reason I was never attracted to reading this book, even though friends of mine have been touting it for the past 8 or 9 years since its release. It took my partner buying me a copy for me to get down to reading it. And what a pleasure! Its an easy, if somewhat repetitive read, the repetitiveness aims to instill the principles of the law of attraction – which is a concept many are still unfamiliar with. I already had a natural instinct for what is written in this book, but bringing focused attention to it has compounded those natural instincts. I have already started seeing results and I am only half way through the book!

The Barefoot Doctor Manifesto: Internal Revolution
This is one of the first books I read on manifesting what you want in your life. Its very easy to read, simply written, positive and funny. It basically explains the law of attraction and the use of affirmations and how to phrase them effectively.

The Heart of Tantric Sex by Diana Richardson
This is such an important book for everyone to read whether you are in a relationship or single! Its not just about sex, but more about connecting with each other in the present moment. Its about moving away from friction-based sex, and relaxing into sexual energy, increasing sensitivity and becoming more intimate.
